Heather Bernardin - 2005-2006 President, Villanova Counselor
Danielle Lynn Dunn - Vice President

Danielle graduated from Rice University in Houston,
Texas in 2003 with a B.S. in chemical engineering.She currently works for Merck in the Lansdale, PA
area, providing technical support for raw materials in
the Vaccine Technology & Engineering group. Danielle
likes to stay involved in SWE particularly through the
various volunteer activities for student outreach,
such as the Widener University engineering mini-camp
and the AAUW Touch the Future program. To keep the
right side of her brain alive, she's also a closet
writer.

Carole has a B.A. in Physics, Temple University 1966 and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Drexel University 1974. She started her career at the Frankford Arsenal as a test engineer in ballistics and eventually as an electro-optic engineer in an optics laboratory working on prototype laser rangefinders. After a 5 year hiatus to accomodate a growing family, she resumed her career at General Electric in a laser physics lab. Carole is currently employed at Lockheed Martin as a systems engineer. Her total work experience is over 35 years. She joined SWE in the mid 90's.

Shannon Oglesby - Section Representives

Shannon Oglesby is a Process Engineer for Rohm and Haas Company and works on capital projects worldwide for the company’s Architectural and Functional Coatings Business. Shannon graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2004 with a BS in Chemical Engineering and has been a member of SWE since joining as a student member in 2001.

Sharon works as an Environmental Engineer with the US Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA). In the Waste & Chemicals Management Division,
she is responsible for implementing the National Partnership for
Environmental Priorities (NPEP) Program across the Mid-Atlantic Region,
and for providing technical assistance in current issues related to the
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
Sharon has over 5 years of experience in government and university
research and development. Prior to joining EPA, Sharon was an
Environmental Specialist with Project Resources Inc. (PRI), a private
environmental engineering and remediation consulting firm. With PRI,
Sharon provided technical support for several Superfund sites and
groundwater contamination projects. In addition, she worked with city
and state water and wastewater treatment facilities to provide
compliance assistance under the EPA Risk Management Program (RMP),
while performing risk assessment audits.
Sharon holds a B.S. in Geology from the University of Puerto Rico at
Mayaguez, a M.S. in Geological Sciences and Geochemistry from the
University of Florida at Gainesville, and a M.S. in Civil Engineering
from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently certified
as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management
Institute in Pennsylvania.

Michelle Lore, a prior student member, has been a professional member since 2003. She graduated from Rutgers Engineering school in 1990, and continued on with her MBA also from Rutgers. Michelle currently works at Arkema, Inc. (formerly ATOFINA chemicals) as a Product Manager for the Thio chemicals division, managing marketing and supply chain activities for the light mercaptan, sulfonyls, and polysulfide product lines. She is currently Corporate Chair for the Philadelphia SWE section.

Susan Best - Engineers' Week Liaison

Susan L. Best, PE, has been an active member of SWE since 1975. In
1996, she became a Fellow of the Society and is also a Life Member. She
has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware and
a MSCE from California State University, Los Angeles. Currently the
Assistant Director, Traffic Engineering and ITS, PA for Urban Engineers,
Inc., she has a broad background in traffic engineering and
transportation planning projects. She has been the SWE-Phila Section
liaison to the Delaware Valley Engineers Week Council since 1985 and is
currently Senior Vice Chair of the council.

Susan A. Sciarratta - Meeting Coordinator

Susan A. Sciarratta, P.E. is currently taking a break from her career as an
environmental engineer and works for herself through her company, Young
Engin'uity, offering workshops on science and engineering to kids of all
ages. Susan has degrees in chemical and environmental engineering and
currently resides in Newtown, PA with her husband and two children. Susan
is a past President of SWE Philadelphia Section.

Jennifer Wetzel - Membership

Jennifer is a Project Manager at the University of Pennsylvania managing capital projects, including new construction, building renovations, and utility work. Jennifer graduated from Lehigh University in 1993 with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering and also has an MBA from Temple University. She has been a SWE member since 1990 and is also on the Steering Committee of the Philadelphia Regional Future City Competition.

Aina Zahari received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002. Aina’s first engineering work experience was during her internship with Fairchild Semiconductor as a Unit Process Development Co-op. Immediately after graduation, Aina joined Rohm and Haas Company. Presently a Capital Deployment Process Engineer based at the Engineering Division in Croydon, PA, she supports capital projects by various businesses in Rohm and Haas. Aina is currently pursuing an MBA from Temple University on a part-time basis.
Although Aina has been a member of SWE since at MIT, she has just begun active involvement. She now serves as Co-Editor for the SWE Outlook newsletter and as the SWE section counselor for Temple University.

Jennifer has worked as an engineer for Merck & Co., Inc. for the past seven years after graduating from Stevens Institute of Technology with a B.E. in Chemical Engineering. Currently her role is Senior Manufactuing Engineer for the Bulk Vaccine production area. She has been a SWE member in the New Jersey section and in the Philadelphia section, joining the latter in 2002. While in New Jersey, she served as Membership Chair and as the Counselor for Stevens. Beginning in 2005, Jennifer has served as the Conference co-Chair for the Region E Conference to be held with Drexel University in March 2006. Jennifer enjoys fencing, reading, walking, and watching college football. She is also a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers.

Tessa Winkler first joined SWE in 2000 as a college freshman at Penn State University. She was an active member all four years serving as Vice-President and corporate contact in 2003 and being named Outstanding Committee Chair in both 2002 and 2004. At Penn State, she created and organized a charity event, known as the Mr. Engineer Competition, that raises money for children with cancer through Penn State's Panhellenic Dance Marathon. Penn State's SWE student chapter still holds the event annually. Tessa took a year off from SWE but joined the Philadelphia professional section in the fall of 2005. She is a civil and environmental consulting engineer at CABE Associates, Inc. in Dover, Delaware. Tessa graduated from Penn State University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Environmental Engineering. Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in Environmental Engineering part time at the University of Delaware.

Alexis is an engineer working on technoloy transfer for new vaccines at
Merck. In addition to her role as professional counselor for the UPenn
SWE section, Alexis is also helping to organize the 2006 Region E SWE
Conference. Alexis graduated in 2003 with a BS in Chemical Engineering
from Stanford University, where she was actively involved in the
leadership of the student section.
